Which coffee shop do you recommend? Here’s my no-frills, running list of recommended favorite, (mostly) South LA coffee shops, compiled by both frequenting them myself and other local’s rave reviews! Hot and Cool Cafe @Leimert Park Village - if you’re hungry get their Soul Bowl (vegan friendly) #supportblackbusinesses
Harun Coffee @Leimert Park Village - limited donuts and cookies (and sometimes an Eggtravaganzas toast) available daily. Open early! #supportblackbusinesses
South LA Cafe @Leimert Park near Exposition Park - their avocado toast is solid; limited menu. They’re very involved with the community with Covid testing tents and vaccination pop-ups often seen outside. Outdoor seating! #supportblackbusinesses
Hilltop Coffee Slauson @South LA breakfast, lunch, juices, and sandwiches - their food is just as good as their coffee #supportblackbusinesses
Highly Likely @West Adams - full on, all-day cafe, sit-down-and eat vibes with roll-up walls and a small outdoor area. Very hip and modern; open for dinner with wine/beer!
Vee’s Cafe @West Adams - no-none sense LA restaurant chain with organic coffee and a back patio and full menu known for its omelettes and burritos and fine breakfast/brunch fare
With Love Coffee and Market @USC area, full grocery and marketplace too (and gives back to the community with its non-profit)
Coffee MCO @Koreatown, on Western - clean, elegant coffee and espresso bar on the South end of Ktown; open late until 9p! #supportAAPI
Blue Elephant @West Adams - eccentric, vegan-friendly cafe off Washington Blvd
FENCE COFFEE @Koreatown off Western, parking is in the back. They also hosted a series of non-alcoholic cocktail pop-ups so they are mixology centric :) #supportAAPI
Dulce Cafe @USC Village - superb Asian inspired desserts, donuts; immerse yourself in the center of student life!
Nature’s Brew @University Park near USC - complete with juices, sandwiches, and full cafe menu
